During my Master’s Degree studies in music composition
my teacher would make us carry a notepad around and
jot down rhythms and inflections of things we saw in
every day life. (ie. “Holy cow, look at that car!”,
“What a beautiful sunset.”,
“Man, I forgot my homework again.”)
Then he had us give pitch to the rhythms and
inflections and come up with melodies.

What's your name sound like as a tune?
Want to turn a song lyric or word into a riff or melody?

This app lets you do just that!

Its as easy as adding your text and setting the duration of each letter or rest.

A space or any non alphabet character is used as a rest.

A rest is no sound for a set duration.

The duration of a quarter note or crochet is 0.25, half note or minin is 0.5, whole note or semibreve is 1.0, double note or breve is 2.0, long note or quadruple note is 4.0.

A MIDI file is produced and can be played with a variety of General MIDI software instruments.

Tempo, delay, reverb and echo enhance the audio output.

Tempo is set at 120 bpm when saving your file.

Your saved MIDI file can be exported from the MIDIriff documents directory via the Files App into any DAW including GarageBand and Logic Pro.

It can also be shared through email and airdrop via the Files App..

Any of your saved files that are renamed will not load back into this app.
