What if you took taxis as you take buses or the tube? No need to wait in line at a taxi station; you just have to find the taxis going in the same direction as you. Ecotaxi allows you to then get in touch with the EcoTaxiFriend on board, by chat or phone call.
To share expenses, Ecotaxi recommends sharing the difference between the amount showing on the metre at the time of getting on and at arrival.
Continuing the previous example: in the Paris suburbs, Jacques is looking for a taxi to go to the city centre. On Ecotaxi, he detects Pierre and Paul, who are crossing the capital from north to south. Jacques gets in and pays only 10€ to his two co-travellers for his part of the journey.
