Lactase
The Laktase app helps people with lactose intolerance to determine the proper amount of lactase tablets required to compensate for enjoying food which contains lactose.

Once you have set the FCC (Food Chemical Codex) of the tablets you use you fill in the amount of cheese, ice-cream or Tiramisu you are about to eat and the app informs you about the amount of tablets you need to take.

Nikolaj Andersen, the developer of this app, has a lactose intolerance as well. His app is his solution to his problem of never knowing how many lactase tablets to take before eating something containing lactose. Now there is no more confusion due to lactase supplements dosed differently, different types of food with largely different amounts of lactose and different amounts of the desired food.

Lactose is a disaccharide sugar that is found most notably in cow milk. It is formed from galactose and glucose. Lactose makes up around 2~8% of milk (by weight).
World-wide, averagely about 75% of the people may not enjoy food containing lactose as their body is unable to digest it. This results in different kinds of health problems like diarrhea, winds - sometimes even tornados :-) and other.
Lactase is the enzyme that splits lactose (milk sugar) into its components and makes it digestible. Normally the enzyme lactase is only produced in childhood, in Europe often in adulthood as well. If not produced by the body the enzyme may be taken as a supplement available in pharmacies and drugstores.
